Our projects

We’re proud of the work we do at DRR Dynamics. You’ll see a few examples of the types of projects we’ve worked on below.
If you have any questions or would like to find out more about any of the projects detailed below, please contact us

Building the UN Women Inclusive DRR Policy Tracker

In 2017, we developed a table showing the progress of countries signed to the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in meeting the targets and goals related to including marginalised groups in disaster risk reduction policy.

This table was eventually taken on by UN Women Women's Resilience to Disasters Knowledge Hub and developed into the tracker for inclusive disaster risk reduction policies.

The final tracker can be found here.

Communicating with marginalised groups in a disaster

This project explored the area of emergency communication. Specifically, it focused on how marginalised groups (those with disabilities, older people and LGBTI groups) are often forgotten in emergency communication strategies. In identifying those failings we were able to develop guidelines to ensure communication during a disaster situation is more inclusive.

UNDRR Words into Action for National Disaster Risk Assessments (NDRA)

DRR Dynamics was awarded the lead authorship on a chapter of the Words into Action National Disaster Risk Assessment booklet relating to the inclusion of marginalised groups. The chapter focused on concrete steps and actions DRR and DRM professionals can take to ensure an inclusive NDRA strategy and ensure those traditionally left of NDRA planning were included.
